Hima is an international sustainability lawyer and IICA-certified Independent Director, holding credentials from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, India. She holds dual LL.M. degrees in International Law, Global Security, Peace and Development, completed through the Erasmus Mundus programme at the University of Glasgow, Leuphana University Lüneburg, and the Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals (IBEI). Her academic work centres on the intersection of climate adaptation law and environmental justice, examining how international legal frameworks address the disproportionate climate burden carried by disaster-prone developing countries, and how conflicting domestic policy priorities entrench inequality within India's adaptation architecture.

Himabindu brings legal and governance experience across multiple sectors, advising on regulatory compliance, sustainability strategy, and institutional governance in both listed and growth-stage environments.

Her thematic editorial focus at POLIscope sits at the convergence of international sustainability law, climate justice, and equitable adaptation. She interrogates how international legal obligations translate into meaningful protection for communities most exposed to climate harm, with particular attention to the structural gaps between global climate commitments and domestic implementation in developing countries. She aims to advance policy-relevant scholarship that holds states and international institutions accountable to the equity imperatives embedded in the global climate and disaster risk reduction frameworks.
